Summer is looming near and that means it’s time to worry about hot weather fashion and bikini bodies. Summer has never been my favorite time for fashion…I’m not a huge fan of my bare thighs and usually the offerings become too bohemian for my taste. I’m happy to find that this year the hot looks seem a lot more to my liking. 90s cuts, bold color and vintage tropical prints as far as the eye can see.
We are taking our first long weekend getaway away from baby girl to go to Palm Springs next month and I’m pretty excited. Even though it’s only a couple days, I’m longing to be free to focus just on each other and flaunt daring summer fashion without worrying about getting puréed banana all over it. I’ve been a bit obsessed with putting a couple solid looks together. When I think of Palm Springs fashion I imagine myself like Fabiana Semprebom in the Endless Summer shoot for Marie Claire Australia pictured below. I’m not really known to don this much of a sexy vintage pinup look however some people would say I am this dramatic LOL.
Dolce & Gabbana as a brand is made for Palm Springs fashionistas with their banana leaf prints and fabulous bathing suit line. I’m currently scouring eBay for D&G summer remnants from last year to wear.
I have an on again off again relationship with Zara, but they are killing it on their late spring early summer fashion this year. Their pink items, tropical prints and high waisted shorts are giving me life. I’m scooping up some of the items below for this trip and to wear the rest of the season. I’m particularly taken with the 2 piece outfit and the palm leaf suede heels.
Tracy Reese is a line I haven’t found compelling in quite a while as it’s a bit too demure for me these days, but their recent additions for this season are fresh and flattering. I’m particularly in love with their palm leaf take on lace. Something I have never seen before and very Palm Springs.
For additinal swim swim suit options, I find J. Crew’s new summer selection of one pieces very interesting this year. They are somehow a bit daring and more sexy while also showing less skin. That’s a hard thing to pull off.
Well I better hit the gym and get this bikini bod ready! See you by the pool.
