As a child growing up in the 80s and 90s my love for Barbie began early. She became not just a toy but a cherished companion in my world of make-believe adventures. Whether it was dressing her up in glittering outfits for glamorous events or embarking on thrilling quests in a fantastical land, Barbie was my loyal partner in childhood escapades. Barbie allowed me to explore different cultures, dream up countless scenarios, and imagine what I could be someday. My experience with Barbie dolls instilled in me a love for creativity, fashion, and the boundless possibilities of imagination that have stayed with me throughout my life. Even as an adult my love for Barbie endures. What once began as a childhood fascination has evolved into a deep appreciation for the iconic doll’s cultural impact and historical significance. Barbie has become a symbol of empowerment and representation, inspiring women of all ages to pursue their dreams fearlessly. Sharing my love for Barbie with my own daughter has been such a fun experienced that allows me to relive the joy I felt playing with Barbie as a child, but also gave me a realization that creativity and imagination that knows no age limits. I strive to never let go of that imagination and creativity that Barbie was part of igniting in me early on, and I am encouraging my daughter to do the same. The recently released Barbie movie gave me a new reason to feature this iconic character, however as a lifelong fan, I have featured Barbie before in this blogging journey. I have compiled both of my Barbie shoots into one blog post. The first is a 3-look shoot with Bronson from Bauman Photographers showcasing versions of Barbie inspired by favorite 80s and 90s dolls from my childhood. The second is a 3-look shoot with Angela of Create with Gusto showcasing iconic vintage looks from the original Barbie of the 50s and 60s. I hope you enjoy this look into my version of Barbie World!
