I’m thrilled to share my fourth blog feature from the RaDD Artwalk, San Diego’s waterfront collection of large-scale public artworks. This next feature is extra special because it was selected by vote on my Instagram. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped guide the choice!

For this feature, I’m focusing on The Sum of All Parts (2023) by artist Aaron Glasson. Glasson often creates vibrant, immersive works that weave together themes of ecology, identity, and interconnectedness. The Sum of All Parts reflects this ethos in a big way. It’s layered imagery, organic textures, and surreal forms flow seamlessly from wall to wall, transforming the ordinary architecture into something alive with color and meaning. For my photoshoot, I leaned into that energy by styling not one but two looks inspired by the mural itself. Each outfit was chosen to blend into the color tones of the piece while echoing its large, geometric forms. The result was a playful back-and-forth between myself and the artwork, creating moments where I almost disappeared into the wall and others where I stood out as a living extension of Glasson’s vision.

I’m energized to keep exploring the RaDD Artwalk and to feature more of the works that are turning San Diego into a living, breathing gallery. Want to help decide which piece I feature next? Be sure to follow along on Instagram…I’ll be posting another vote soon!
