2020 is certainly off to a strange and uncertain start. I began the year with great excitement for upcoming event projects, magazine features and new connections and creative friends being made. Without rehashing what everyone already knows about what is happening out there, I’ll just say this: The world has changed…at least for the time being. Facing weeks of confinement but trying to find the silver lining; I realized the one thing I actually have not had much time for this year so far is my blog. This is actually the first post I have made in 2020. I’m excited to be able to slow down and to put more into this blog space and into my Instagram. I will have to get really creative with producing content without being able to venture out into the world as often. Luckily for me I can start off 2020 on this platform with a bang!!! I was able to take a day trip to Laguna Beach a couple weeks ago with a couple fellow creatives to shoot with two colorful art installations I have been itching to see. I’m going to break the coverage into two posts since each one is so special on its own.

The first is an installation by artist Okuda San Miguel; An artist and muralist I really admire so much. He is known for transforming and covering full buildings with his art, not just single walls. Many of his installations all over the world are on my bucket list, but luckily there is such an installation in the arts district of Laguna called The Palace of Dreams. I love the name because this type of installation is what my dreams are made of. These pics by new friend Angela of Create with Gusto are just filled with colorful joy and are among my favorite photos of all time. I plan to continue my colorful art coverage throughout these isolating times. I hope these posts bring a little whimsy and inspiration to your daily life and provide a window to something less bleak. Art for me is the ultimate escape and it’s needed now more than ever.
