Another year of Art Alive has come and gone. I feel like i always say the most recent year is my favorite ever, but its definitely true again this year. ever since we decide on the 2022 theme of Op Art, i have been bossed…both in planning the design for the events, but also in my personal life. This was definitely the most ME of any event design I have ever done. This year’s dinner was set in one of the Museum galleries filled with the Op-Art Masters such as Bridget Riley, Richard Anuszkiewicz and Victor Vasarely (my personal favorite). In addition to the amazing masterpieces on the wall, the room was created as one giant immersive op art space itself. We created giant reproductions of Vasarely works as well as printing hte tabletops with the largest Vasarely from the show. The entire floor was installed with as custom laser printed black & white optical illusion carpet. The crown jewel of the room was a custom kinetic orb installation we created to undulate in a variety of color and movement patterns throughout the evening. The meal and other offerings were also created to echo the color and optical theme of the evening. I was lucky enough to find the most divine vintage beaded Op Art print dress that has to be in my top 3 event outfits of all time. Everything came together so beautifully into the most truly opulent and optically pleasing evening of my design dreams. I couldn’t do it without my Museum Team and amazing vendor family.
