Art Museum’s are a special kind of inspiration recharging place for me. They obviously have a very central place in my life since I have worked at one for almost 14 years. Even though I love my Museum immensely, I have so much love for all of them. I think the more places that show art in a city the more rich the creative fabric of that community will be. I was beyond excited when I heard the local contemporary art museum was finally opening after so many years under construction. It’s another space I have spent alot of time in over the years and also has a special place in my heart. I was able to attend the reopening event last month and was awe struck at the new facility. I’m sure every museum dreams of the scale of these new gallery spaces. In any Museum space pieces will jump out to me immediately and of course as soon as I entered the space this gleaming sculpture by the beloved artist Yayoi Kusama called to me. Once I saw its mega dot exuberance, I immediately called my friends over at MCASD to schedule a time to shoot with it. Angela of Create with Gusto perfectly captured the whimsy of this piece and my vision for this shoot. I feel like Alice in a more artsy chic wonderland. If you are in the La Jolla area, make sure to check out this amazing new space and its world class collection. You are sure to find inspiration.
